B5 biodiesel programme to be implemented in 2011

Kuala Lumpur: Implementation of the B5 biodiesel programme, a combination of five per cent biofuel and 95 per cent diesel, is targeted for next year upon approval from the Cabinet, Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Tan Sri Bernard Dompok said Thursday.

He said the matter would be decided through discussions at the Cabinet.

"The B5 will require an increase of 4.5 sen per litre. The question is, who will bear this cost?" he said after the launch of the "Guidebook on On-Site Identification of Some Common Timbers Used in Malaysia" here Thursday
