Don Heck has heard a lot of talk about making Iowa the “renewable energy capital of the world,” and he thinks he’s found a way to help.
The laboratory he directs at Iowa Central Community College, in Fort Dodge, has become the first to earn accreditation as a BQ-9000 laboratory. That means his lab has become the national leader in testing biodiesel and biodiesel blends to ensure they meet fuel quality standards.
