A Louisiana plant designed to manufacture highgrade biodiesel and jet fuels from nonfood-grade animal fats is mechanically complete and is testing systems before it begins operations later this year, executives said Thursday.
Dynamic Fuels, a joint venture between Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale and Tulsa's Syntroleum Corp., started construction in October 2008 on the site in Geismar, La., just outside Baton Rouge.
